The first generation Audi R8 is already a classic, even a legend. Audi's first supercar, sharing parts with the Lamborghini Gallardo.
The release of the R8 changed the supercar landscape. Suddenly there was an exotic looking, mid engined car, with a high end interior and performance to match that was reliable and could be serviced at your local Audi dealer.
The second generation R8 has now been available for a few years and is a bargain relatively speaking. Matching the performance and build quality of the Huracan that it shares parts with for $100,000 less.
Even so many consider the first gen the better car, its more elegant styling and balanced performance make it more of a true sports car. It also helps that they are starting to become very affordable with some examples being in the $50,000 price range.
